Downtown Red Lodge Historic Walking Tour
For those of you wanting to explore Red Lodge's historically rich neighborhoods up close, a self-guided walking tour is available. The tour will take you to the site of the Sundance Kid's 1897 attempted bank robbery. It will teach you about the towns mining boom and the bootlegging heyday that followed the bust. It will guide you to the Victorian "castles" of the Hi Bug district and to the once glorious Theatorium built in 1921 by volunteers and decorated with marble statues imported from Italy. With neighborhoods dubbed "Little Italy" and "Finn Town," and many buildings on the National Historic Register, Red Lodge is a fascinating place to explore.
The Red Lodge Walking Tour will allow visitors the opportunity to learn about our town's proud history of preservation through representative historical sites.
